Credits and licences

QuillDeal Tools stands on open-source work. Here is what we use and under which licence.

Code

  • Astro (MIT licence): builds these pages.
  • pdf-lib by Andrew Dillon (MIT licence): builds the PDF in the Images to PDF tool.
  • ansi-unicode-converter by abdnahid (MIT licence, version 1.0.5): the conversion tables and rules behind the Bijoy to Unicode and Unicode to Bijoy tools. We copied its two source files into this site and changed only how they are loaded; we left out its web server part.

Fonts

  • Inter (SIL Open Font Licence 1.1) and Noto Sans Bengali (SIL Open Font Licence 1.1), served through Fontsource.

Our own code

The image compressor, the typing tests and the price calculator are written by us. The Bijoy converter uses the library named above, after we tested it on known word pairs and on long texts. We looked at what other tool sites offer to decide which tools people need, and copied no code or text from them. We do not use code under the GPL or AGPL licences.
